Free parking on public streets
- College Street (limited spaces)
- Broadgate (1 hour only) or free near junction with Pye Lane
- A591 (roadside parking) – coming from Ambleside, head right on the roundabout as you reach the sign for Grasmere village, heading for Keswick. The free roadside parking can be found just past the cottages on the right hand side.
Overnight parking in Grasmere
For free overnight parking in Grasmere, we recommend using one of our free parking spots:
- College Street
- Broadgate
- A591 (roadside parking) – coming from Ambleside, head right on the roundabout as you reach the sign for Grasmere village, heading for Keswick. The free roadside parking can be found just past the cottages on the right hand side.
Alternatively, you can park in Red Bank Road Car Park in Grasmere for free between 6pm and 8am.
Free motorhome parking in Grasmere
Motorhomes may park for free in the large layby on the A591 (coming from Ambleside, head right on the roundabout as you reach the sign for Grasmere village, heading for Keswick.
The free roadside parking can be found just past the cottages on the right hand side. There is a pathway that leads to the village directly opposite the layby, which meanders over the River Rothay.
We always recommend looking out for newly installed road signs as permitted parking can change quickly.
